RAC Preparation

Both Congress and CMS are taking aggressive strides to accelerate the acceptance of evidence-based health care and lighten the load of a strained national budget. However, CMS is adopting recovery audits (or RAC audits) as the first real tangible effort to push hospitals and physicians down a path of redefining the clinical practice of medicine.

DML has developed a new service to assist facilities with identifying potential records that may come under the question of the auditors, call RAC Preparation.

We work with your facility management to select a random sample of charts within specific DRG categories and evaluate them as a RAC auditor would.  Therefore, you will have a greater understanding of the type of discrepancies these auditors will look for within these charts.  Of course the records cannot be modified or changed at that time, however being forewarned is forearmed!
